Job summary

Paycom is seeking an intermediate level Facilities Maintenance technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs across building systems in a fast-paced environment. You will inspect HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical components, perform general repairs, and assist with site safety and event setup.

The ideal candidate has 0–2 years of maintenance or construction trades experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel to multiple sites in the United States as

Job description

POSITION SUMMARYProvides intermediate level maintenance, repairs, and support for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Conduct routine inspections, execute preventative maintenance, handle work orders, and assist with site safety and cleaning.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPreventative Maintenance: Performs routine inspections and repairs on HVAC units (filters/drains), lighting, plumbing fixtures, and electrical systemsGeneral Repairs: Repairs electrical mechanical equipment, plumbing, sprinklers, walls, fencing, flooring, doors, windows, and furniture, including patching and paintingBuilding Operations: Monitors building systems, sets up furniture/equipment for events, and handles basic troubleshootingSafety/Exterior Work: Performs building walkthroughs, roof inspections, landscaping, and safety inspectionsDocumentation: Tracks maintenance tasks and closes work orders using facility softwarePOSITION QUALIFICATIONSCompetency Statement(s)Walking/Standing: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift, including traveling between equipment locations within large manufacturing facilities. May walk several miles during a shift depending on work assignments.Body Positioning: Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and work in restricted positions while accessing equipment. Ability to reach above shoulder level and overhead and work in awkward or restricted positions for extended periodsClimbing/Access: Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access structures and safely maneuver around, over, and between equipment, piping, and structural components to access work locations for the measurement, installation, inspection, adjustment, and removal of CMP tools, heater jackets, and heat tape, and associated components. Work may require maintaining balance and working from elevated or restricted-access locations while following applicable fall-protection and site safety requirements.Safe Maneuvering: Ability to safely maneuver around, between, above, and below equipment, piping, structural components, and other obstructions to access equipment and process lines.Lifting: Ability to lift, lower, carry, push, pull, position, and manipulate tools, parts, equipment, and materials using team lifting or approved material-handling equipment when required. ETI maximum lifting capacity for 1 person is 35lbs.Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, gripping, grasping, and manipulation of hand tools, power tools, fasteners, electrical connections, and equipment components.Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment based on assigned hazards, including protective clothing, gloves, safety footwear, hearing protection, fall-protection equipment, and respiratory protection when required.
