Job summary

Celldex is seeking a Facility Technician for our Fall River operations in a GMP and general research setting. You will perform preventative maintenance on process equipment, HVAC, autoclaves, water systems and related systems, prioritizing the department’s schedule to ensure compliance and uptime.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, reading diagrams, documenting work orders, and collaborating with senior technicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-3 years of general plant maintenance experience.
• GMP experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems; ability to read blueprints a plus.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel; follow SOPs.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; detail oriented.
• Willingness to work after hours and perform manual labor.
• Good written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform morning and evening daily rounds.
• Maintain and repair process equipment in GxP and non-GxP environments (autoclaves, glass washers, HVAC, steam boiler, generators, water systems, temp control).
• Perform general facility maintenance (carpentry, drywall, painting, tiles, office furniture).
• Troubleshoot and repair utility, process and mechanical equipment.
• Complete logbooks and work orders; maintain documentation.
• Assist senior technicians and operate Building Management System; after-hours alarm coverage.
• Support contract cleaning of the Fall River facility.
• Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned.

Overview

The Facility Technician supports Celldex’s Fall River operations by performing maintenance on equipment within a GxP and general research facility. This facility consists of research, quality control, pre-clinical and analytical development laboratories, a GMP clinical manufacturing facility, warehouse, and office space. The technician will prioritize the workload around departmental schedules in order to complete required preventative and routine maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform morning and evening daily rounds.
• Perform maintenance and/or repair in both GxP and non-GxP environments on process equipment such as autoclaves, glass washers, HVAC, steam boiler, standby generators, purified water systems and temperature control units
• Perform general facility maintenance, i.e., basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, replacing ceiling tiles, office furniture repair/installation
• Troubleshoot and repair utility, process and mechanical equipment
• Complete logbooks, equipment specific forms and work-orders consistently and accurately, while maintaining organized documentation files.
• Assist senior level technicians.
• Operate Building Management System (BMS) and provide after hours call-back for alarm coverage
• Support contract cleaning of the Fall River facility
• Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Grad.
• 0-3 years, experience performing general plant maintenance a plus.
• GMP Experience is a plus.
• Some working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems and associated instrumentation. (Ability to read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams a plus.)
• General word processing ability including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work following standard operating procedures, SOP’s.
• The ability to work independently within a team environment.
• Must be detailed orientated.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work after hours when necessary.
• The ability to perform manual labor, work in enclosed areas, and operate both power and manual tools.
• Strong written and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• The ability to work on a ladder.

Compensation Statement

The expected base salary for this position is: $42350.00 to $55000.00. We are committed to compensating employees equitably based on several factors including experience, education, licensure/certifications, skill level, location of the position, and availability of similar talent in a competitive market.
