Job summary

Hughston is seeking a maintenance technician to manage day-to-day operations for the building, equipment, grounds and other assets. You will meet with supervisors daily, complete urgent and preventive work orders, inspect facilities for malfunctions, and document recommendations.

You will perform minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting and carpentry tasks, and reconfigure modular spaces to fit user needs. Valid driver's license and willingness to work flexible hours are required.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in maintenance or a similar field.
  • Must be able to read/interpet blueprints and other technical drawings.
  • Skill with precision tools, operating and cleaning equipment, repairing equipment, and remodeling work areas.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory MVR and proof of insurance for onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with supervisors daily to discuss special needs, problems and assignments.
  • Complete all demand and preventive maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
  • Inspect buildings and structures to identify malfunctions or needed repairs and document recommendations.
  • Maintain all satellite offices.
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance (fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, tubes, ballast, wires).
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance (repair/replace pipes, faucets, drains).
  • Perform minor HVAC maintenance (replace filters, belts, clean coils, operate building management systems).
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry tasks (surfaces, doors, locks, small wood projects).
  • Reconfigure, install and remount modular offices and space to fit user needs.
  • Operate Hughston fleet vehicles as assigned.
  • Support special projects and department meetings to foster growth.

Job description

Responsible for efficient day-to-day operations by properly maintaining the building, equipment, grounds and other physical assets of the organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Meet with supervisors each day to discuss special needs, problems and assignments.
  • Complete all demand work requests and preventive maintenance work orders in a timely manner as assigned.
  • Inspect building and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions or needed repair, making notes and recommendations.
  • Maintain all appropriate satellite offices.
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, light bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. repairing or replacing leaking pipes, faucets, drains, unclogging drains and toilets, trenching and laying new lines, replacing lines for ice makers, refrigerators and such appliances.
  • Perform minor HVAC maintenance (e.g. replace filters, belts, clean coils, operate building management control systems, etc.) using appropriate hand, power or specialty tools.
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using a brush, roller or sprayer to apply paints, stains, varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, small wood working projects.
  • Reconfigure, install, position and remount modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, cubicles, work surfaces, storage bins, cabinets, lighting, etc.) to accommodate user needs and utilize office space using various hand, power, specialty tools, hand trucks and dollies.
  • Perform the driving duties of Hughston fleet vehicles as assigned.
  • Work flexible hours to ensure special projects, PMs, etc. are completed on an appropriate schedule.
  • Enhance growth through departmental meetings and outside education programs.
  • Receipt and distribution of mail and packages.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Required:
  • Two (2) years of experience in maintenance or similar field.
Preferred:
  • Experience in healthcare maintenance field.
Education:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
  • Trade or Vocational School Diploma.
Special Qualifications:
Required:
  • Valid Driver’s License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding.
  • Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
  • Must have skill with the use of precision tools, operating and cleaning equipment, repairing equipment, and remodeling work areas.
  • Must be able to read / interpret blueprints and other technical drawings.
  • Requires skill in numerical calculations.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
