Job summary

Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Facilities Worker to maintain buildings, equipment and grounds and respond to maintenance requests from staff. This role supports a trauma-informed, equity-focused workplace.

The schedule is 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, with after-hours as needed; wage is $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and education. Benefits include health plans, retirement contributions, paid time off, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required.
• Experience: Minimum two years experience in building and/or mechanical trades preferred.
• Licensure: Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain designated buildings, equipment and grounds.
• Paint, woodwork and repair as needed.
• Light electrical and plumbing duties.
• Operate company vehicles and ensure equipment operates safely.
• Care for landscape and seasonal grounds; participate in snow removal.
• Enter maintenance data and coordinate with staff for supplies.
• Set up and tear down for events; attend maintenance meetings.
• Follow safety guidelines and complete required trainings.
