Job summary

Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment in Los Angeles seeks a Maintenance Technician to inspect buildings, identify repairs, and perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting tasks using a pre-established checklist.

Responsibilities include estimating costs, scheduling work, and recording maintenance activities. A valid CA driver’s license and 2+ years in building upkeep are required. Company offers a broad benefits package and opportunities for internal advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid California Driver's License required.
• At least two (2) years' experience/education in building construction, maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of machines and tools.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, contractors and vendors.
• Follow standards in working with multiple services, tools and equipment.
• Follow orders and complete work assignments with minimal supervision.
• Apply methods, practices and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, repair, renovation and minor construction of buildings and utilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor electrical maintenance including replacement and repair of fixtures such as switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts and related components.
• Perform minor plumbing maintenance including leaks, drains, and line work.
• Perform minor carpentry and masonry tasks including prep, painting, doors, locks and fittings.
• Prepare and paint surfaces to protect wood and metal parts from corrosion using sprayers, rollers or brushes.
• Replace or update inoperable building materials and appliances using tools and materials.
• Estimate repair costs for jobs.
• Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties as needed.
• Record type and cost of maintenance/repair work.
• Schedule work requests without interrupting classes.
• Other duties as assigned.
