Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is seeking a multi-trade maintenance technician to install, repair, and maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, floor covering, and related systems within a high school environment.

The role covers a broad set of facilities tasks, requires four years of experience across multiple trades, and includes a 12-month calendar with full-time hours. Bilingual ability not required; standard English communications apply.

SUMMARY

Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, floor covering, mechanical, fixtures and physical structure within a high school operation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Four (4) years of experience including HVAC/Refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting experience.
• Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• FBI fingerprint background check.
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
• Post-offer/pre-employment 50 lb lift test.
• Valid Driver's license (Arizona Driver’s Licenserequiredwithin 30 days of hire)
• MVReport– showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
• A Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Technician Certification is required within 90 days of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of a recognized training or apprenticeship program in the related field(s).
