Hiring Facilities/HVAC Technicians Near You
Up to $39/hour + Weekly Pay!
The Facilities Technician provides comprehensive maintenance support to ensure assigned buildings remain safe, secure, and well-maintained. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing building systems, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting facility operations to ensure a reliable and efficient environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the facility regularly to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
- Troubleshoot and repair power systems, HVAC systems and controls, and other mechanical systems to maintain optimal performance.
- Perform general and preventive maintenance on building systems, including carpentry and plumbing tasks.
- Coordinate and oversee vendor activities related to facility maintenance and services, ensuring quality and timely completion of work.
- Replace lighting system components, including bulbs and ballasts, as needed to maintain proper illumination throughout the facility.
- Move and arrange office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested to support operational needs.
- Use appropriate tools, equipment, and maintenance techniques to diagnose and resolve facility-related issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report issues or hazards promptly.
- Work independently to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively while meeting maintenance schedules and service expectations.
Essential Skills
- 5–7 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a closely related field.
- Hands‑on experience with HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and basic repair of HVAC equipment and controls.
- Experience performing general building maintenance, including carpentry and plumbing tasks.
- Ability to troubleshoot power systems and mechanical systems within a facility environment.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and ensure work is completed accurately and safely.
- Effective problem‑solving skills to diagnose maintenance issues and implement practical solutions.
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with colleagues, vendors, and building occupants.
- High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a corporate or campus‑style environment is beneficial.
- Familiarity with vendor management and coordination of external maintenance services.
- Comfort working across multiple building systems, including lighting, mechanical, and basic structural components.
- Ability to perform physically active tasks such as moving furniture, equipment, and materials.
- Willingness and ability to work 2nd and 3rd shift schedules.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of King of Prussia, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
