Hiring Facilities/HVAC Technicians Near You

Up to $39/hour + Weekly Pay!

The Facilities Technician provides comprehensive maintenance support to ensure assigned buildings remain safe, secure, and well-maintained. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing building systems, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting facility operations to ensure a reliable and efficient environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor the facility regularly to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
Troubleshoot and repair power systems, HVAC systems and controls, and other mechanical systems to maintain optimal performance.
Perform general and preventive maintenance on building systems, including carpentry and plumbing tasks.
Coordinate and oversee vendor activities related to facility maintenance and services, ensuring quality and timely completion of work.
Replace lighting system components, including bulbs and ballasts, as needed to maintain proper illumination throughout the facility.
Move and arrange office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested to support operational needs.
Use appropriate tools, equipment, and maintenance techniques to diagnose and resolve facility-related issues efficiently.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report issues or hazards promptly.
Work independently to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively while meeting maintenance schedules and service expectations.

Essential Skills

5–7 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a closely related field.
Hands‑on experience with HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and basic repair of HVAC equipment and controls.
Experience performing general building maintenance, including carpentry and plumbing tasks.
Ability to troubleshoot power systems and mechanical systems within a facility environment.
Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and ensure work is completed accurately and safely.
Effective problem‑solving skills to diagnose maintenance issues and implement practical solutions.
Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
Interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with colleagues, vendors, and building occupants.
High school diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working in a corporate or campus‑style environment is beneficial.
Familiarity with vendor management and coordination of external maintenance services.
Comfort working across multiple building systems, including lighting, mechanical, and basic structural components.
Ability to perform physically active tasks such as moving furniture, equipment, and materials.
Willingness and ability to work 2nd and 3rd shift schedules.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
