Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California. Illumination Health + Home is a growing non-profit organization dedicated to disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services, and children's and family programs. Currently, we have 13+ facilities with 22+ micro-communities across Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire.

Job Description

A Facilities Technician 1 is responsible for maintaining and repairing IF facilities, with guidance from more experienced technicians.

This position is eligible for a $500 signing bonus.

Pay rate: $20.00-$22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine repairs of facilities and properties.
• Perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and interior/exterior finishes.
• Maintain a safe work environment following all safety procedures.
• Learn and grow core competencies through feedback from senior technicians.
• Inspect facilities for issues needing attention.
• Occasionally install new flooring.
• Perform preventative maintenance (e.g., replacing filters, smoke alarms).
• Keep tools and equipment organized and clean.
• Assist in preparing rooms for new clients, including furniture setup.
• Ensure security by managing keys, codes, and access.
• Lock and secure facilities as needed.
• Participate in team projects.
• Clear vacated rooms of belongings and trash for repairs.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years relevant experience.
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets).
• Valid CA driver’s license and insurance eligibility.
• Training on heavy equipment (forklifts, lifts) as needed.

Preferred:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
