Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The primary focus of the Facilities Technician is on the repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery, tools, equipment, and associated components to ensure the continuous and safe operation of the property. The Facilities Technician will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, managing expenditure requests for repair and improvements, and addressing painting and structural repair needs within the building. Ensuring OSHA compliance and actively participating in safety compliance are integral aspects of this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs scheduled and nonscheduled repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery, tools, equipment and/or associated equipment to ensure continuous and safe operation of the property.
  • Performs preventative maintenance in conjunction with all building maintenance and/or cleanliness-related items.
  • Submits requests for expenditures associated with repairs, upkeep, and improvement to the Facilities Manager.
  • Performs painting, structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, wallpaper and treatments, and furnishings of buildings.
  • Accountable for OSHA compliance of the property and will be an active participant of safety compliance.
  • Implements and monitors controls designed to assure full compliance with all federal, state, corporate, and property laws, policies, and/or mandates.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directly or indirectly supports all exterior grounds activities, including snow removal, grass cutting, landscaping, parking lots, and other exterior area needs.
  • Directly or indirectly supports the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems, and water distribution, including fire suppression and sewerage facilities.
  • Supports all sanitation processes and procedures, including rodent and pest control.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role may have limited supervisory requirements, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Two to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to read, analyze, and interpret common schematic and mechanical drawings.
  • The ability to respond to inquiries or requests from Team Members and guests with a high level of customer service.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret basic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • The ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • The ability to define a process and draw conclusions to determine the best approach for effecting repairs.
  • The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally push and/or pull wheeled loads up to 250lbs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and agree to periodic checks of driving records to determine continued suitability to drive company and/or patron vehicles.
  • Must qualify for a license with the Maryland State Lottery Agency and meet any credentialling requirements of the Maryland Gaming Control Board.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer literate with the ability to use and navigate a Windows Operating System environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the Team member is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk and hear. The Team member frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The Team member is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The Team member must occasionally lift and or move up to 50lbs, and occasionally push or pull wheeled loads up to 250lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The Team member is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud.
