Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of Logistics and External Relations, the Facilities Technician performs maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds across various facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and handyman tasks.
• Service multiple locations in Illinois; travel is required. Company vehicle and tools are provided.
• Conduct building repairs like fixing/installing light fixtures, flooring, furniture, blinds, bathroom & kitchen fixtures, water heaters, power reels, outlets, and mounting TVs.
• Assist with general labor tasks such as removing debris, setting up furniture, and organizing items for storage.
• Occasional use of a moving truck may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance skills.
• Effective communication skills for customer interactions.
• Creative problem-solving abilities are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent kneeling, stooping, stretching, bending, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Hearing, speech, reaching, touching, typing.
• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Ability to perform visual inspections.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Working Environment

Work outdoors and indoors, with exposure to hazardous conditions, blood/body fluids, fumes, odors, noise, and temperature changes. Collaborate face-to-face with others, operating mechanical and electrical equipment.

Salary Range

USD $25.00 - USD $30.00 per hour, based on experience and full-time schedule.
