We arelooking for a Facilities Technicianwho will be responsible for the coordination and accomplishment of facility maintenance and operation work,performs the duties of Facilities Technician, following recognized industrystandards for such work in a safe and efficient manner. Performs work involvingelectrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical. Evaluates, diagnoses, andtroubleshoots buildings, systems, and equipment as assigned. You will also be responsiblefor identifying materials and equipment needed for work to be accomplished andmaintaining record of such expended on assignments. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based uponcompletion of assignments and results obtained.

The Facilities Technician isresponsible for the maintenance and repairs of all facilities of assigned buildings,acting as the contact for emergency situations. Additionally, the FacilitiesTechnician will assess and consider daily 1) the safety of our employees, 2)the security of our assets and 3) the service to our members. This positionwill coordinate outside contractors or vendors for various services.

Roleand Responsibilities:

  • Will assist the primary contact for allregional personnel for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke,spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs).
  • May assist the project coordinator forall size projects including large scale repair and new facility projects.
  • Assists with maintaining buildingsecurity and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis(on call).
  • Monitors and replaces light bulbs in allassigned facilities, as needed.
  • Perform minor repairs and/or replacementof plumbing fixtures, valves and other devices as required.
  • Perform minor repairs and/or replacementof electrical fixtures, devices and appliances as required.
  • Performs basic electrical work anddetermines when an electrician is required.
  • Hangs pictures and shelving, as needed.
  • Dismantles and installs furniture.
  • Escort service contractors to necessarylocations for equipment service.
  • Coordinates and assists withdepartmental and employee moves.
  • Move furniture, supplies andmiscellaneous equipment.
  • Transports goods or equipment asassigned.
  • Performs immediate cleaning dutiesnecessary to maintain clean facility.
  • Performs other maintenance duties asassigned by the Facilities Manager.
  • Perform all other duties as assignedthat may include work in assistance of others.
  • Identifies standard tools, equipment,materials, methods, and practices used in multiple building maintenance crafts.
  • Leads in the installation, maintenance,and repair of designated building systems.
  • Maintains record of materials and laborexpended on each assignment.
  • Offers assistance to or guide othertechnicians assisting in assignments.
  • P erforms other duties as requested.
  • Observe and report, through the workorder system, any and all defects, deterioration and wear and tear on thefacilities.
  • Communication, as directed, with keyadministrative and staff personnel on special events and functions scheduledfor the buildings that may require special furnishing arrangements and otherduties that may be required.
  • Assist as required and cooperate withall personnel in the performance of day-to-day duties and responsibilities.
  • Prioritizeand manage multi-functional tasks.
Required Experience and Education:
  • 3-10 years of experience (HVAC, Electrical or General Facilities Maintenance)
  • High Schooldiploma or equivalent required (GED).
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
  • Self-motivatedindividual with the ability to thrive in a team-based orindependent environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strongorganization skills.
  • Ability to work in afast-paced environment.
  • Limited supervisionand the exercise of discretion.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (oral and written) with allemployees, contractors and vendors.

Whileperforming the duties of this job, the contract employee isoccasionally required to stand, clean, crawl, kneel, sit,sort, hold, squat, stoop, stand, twist the body, walk, usehands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools orcontrols, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs or laddersand scaffolding, talk or hear, and lift up to 20 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by the job includeability to distinguish the nature of objects by using theeye. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video displayterminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolongedperiods of time. Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizinghigh visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, andmoderate hand/finger dexterity.

Performswork under time schedules and stress which are normallyperiodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines,intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and projectmanagement deadlines. May require working additional timebeyond normal schedule and periodic travel.
