Job summary

The Perry Hotel in Key West, FL is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to diagnose and repair building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pools and life safety equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, painting and drywall, respond to guest service requests promptly, and use a CMMS to document tasks while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance across the property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of engineering and maintenance experience in hotel or facilities.
• Licenses & Certifications: Valid driver’s license; HVAC/pool/electrical certifications a plus.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Respond, diagnose and repair equipment and systems within the building, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, pools and life safety systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, painting, drywall repair and mechanical maintenance.
• Use CMMS to track maintenance tasks, streamline workflows and ensure proper documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations and safety procedures.
• Address guest issues related to engineering promptly and efficiently.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Repairs and General Maintenance
  Respond, diagnose and repair a variety of equipment and systems within the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, pools, and life safety systems. Perform tasks such as preventative maintenance, painting, drywall repair, and mechanical maintenance. Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track maintenance tasks, streamline workflows, and ensure proper documentation and reporting is a plus.
• Regulatory Compliance & Safety:
  Familiar with compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and Local regulations, including certifications (e.g., HVAC, pool operations, electrical). Familiar with safety procedures, including basic emergency protocols.
• Customer Service:
  Understand the importance of addressing guest issues related to engineering promptly and efficiently, while maintaining high service standards and respond effectively to service requests or emergencies.
