Job summary

OneBlood is seeking a Facilities Technician to assist the Facilities Supervisor with daily maintenance, inspections, and preventive tasks across utilities, buildings and grounds.

You will coordinate with vendors, handle repairs, and support emergency maintenance while applying basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and MS Office skills. A high school diploma and 1–3 years of related experience are required, with the ability to travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1–3 years related experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced electrical, plumbing, carpentry & facility maintenance skills.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • IFMA Certification, CDL endorsement and/or OSHA/General Industry 30 hour certification preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; be able to follow complex instructions.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and interfaces with vendors and sub-contractors regarding facility projects, contractual obligations, and maintenance/repair issues
  • Monitors and coordinates facility repair requests to ensure timely service and thorough repairs
  • Performs non-scheduled or emergency maintenance when required to support operations
  • Conducts site inspections and diagnoses problems
  • Monitors installations, maintenance, repairs, and replacements across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and access control
  • Recommends equipment purchases, remodeling and special projects
  • Provides quotes from vendors on large site projects
  • Performs regular and directed grounds maintenance as needed
  • Maintains maintenance records and schedules as required

Overview

Assists the Facilities Supervisor in day-to-day maintenance to include inspection, preventive maintenance and reacting to unplanned maintenance needs of utilities, buildings and grounds

Responsibilities

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) to three (3) years of related experience. Intermediate to advanced electrical, plumbing, carpentry & facility maintenance skills required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:

Valid Florida’s driver’s license and clean driving record required. A/C, electrical, plumbing, and/or building maintenance certification preferred. IFMA Certification, CDL endorsement and/or OSHA/General Industry 30 hour compliance certification preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Skilled with basic facilities maintenance and repair
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Functions involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work and may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of heavy objects or materials (up to 50 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks involve climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
