Job summary

NOF Metal Coatings North America Inc. is seeking a Facilities Technician to support manufacturing and facilities maintenance activities, ensuring safety, quality, and customer expectations are met.

The role includes maintaining equipment, planning maintenance, waste treatment records, and assisting in capital projects. The position requires 2–4 years in maintenance, ability to work with hazardous chemicals, and willingness to work outside normal hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade School Certification or Associate's degree in electrical/HVAC/welding or related tech preferred.
• 2–4 years direct maintenance experience.
• Able to work with hazardous chemicals.
• Able to work outside normal business hours if needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safety, quality, and compliance in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists with maintenance of equipment.
• Assists in planning and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Operates, maintains, and records waste treatment, including ordering and inventory of waste treatment chemicals and equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and repair of existing equipment and modification of new equipment.
• Assists with facilities development with regards to capital planning, process improvement, justification, procurement, and installation.
• Assists management in the evaluation process when determining outsourcing of maintenance, projects, and improvements to contractors and/or vendors.
• Partner with contractors and/or vendors as required to carry out maintenance, projects, and improvements.
• Assists with work orders, calibrations, and inspections as needed.
• 1st tier support team member in emergency and/or unplanned shut-down and/or start-ups.
• General upkeep of the facilities.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Summary of Position:

The Facilities Technician is responsible for assisting in the coordination of all manufacturing/facilities maintenance activities such that the business can meet or exceed all customer expectations by creating a culture of service excellence.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade School Certification or Associate's degree in applicable trade (electrical, HVAC, welding, machinist, or other technical areas preferred)
• 2 to 4 years of direct experience in a maintenance role
• Must be able to work with hazardous chemicals
• Must be able to work outside of normal business hours to support the business
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and/or Facilities Engineer(s).
• Knowledge of general maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to think analytically
• Prolonged periods standing and walking
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
• Can work independently and collaboratively as a team member to meet goals
• Meets or exceeds our internal and external customers' expectations consistently
• Ability to be positive during difficult or challenging situations
