Job summary

Thaden-School in Bentonville, AR is seeking a facilities maintenance technician responsible for routine building upkeep, HVAC and water filter swaps, plumbing and lighting repairs, drywall and painting, and outdoor care. You will also move furniture, assist with events, and maintain records of supplies and equipment.

You will proactively inspect systems to prevent failures, respond to daily maintenance requests, support custodial staff, and report safety concerns, with after-hours emergency

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years' experience in facilities maintenance.
• Must be able to safely operate basic power and hand tools.
• Ability to complete basic maintenance and repairs safely and effectively.
• Willingness to respond to after-hours emergencies.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards, fire, and safety rules and regulations.
• Interact with students, staff, parents, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Criminal background check and clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance for HVAC, water filter replacement, plumbing, lighting, and door hardware repairs.
• Maintain facilities and grounds; drywall repair and painting; pressure washing and snow removal.
• Inspect systems and equipment to prevent issues and costly repairs.
• Assist custodial staff; move office and classroom furniture; set up for events.
• Maintain accurate records of facilities supplies, tools, and equipment; restock as needed.
• Report safety concerns to Facilities Manager; attend meetings and trainings as directed.

Role and ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance for:HVAC and water filter replacement.Plumbing and lighting maintenance and minor repairs.Door hardware maintenance and repairs.And Vehicle maintenance.Preserve facilities and grounds:Ensure the building's interior and exterior are well maintained.Perform minor construction tasks such as drywall repair and painting.Pressure washing of buildings and hardscapes.Blow off drives and walks.Remove snow across campus sidewalks and drives.Proactively inspect systems and equipment to identify potential issues before they cause service interruptions or require costly repairs.Assist the custodial staff when needed.Performing other general tasksMove office and classroom furniture.Set up for internal and external events.Respond to daily maintenance requests.Maintaining accurate records of facilities supplies, tools, and equipment; coordinate with the Facilities Manager to restock materials as needed.Reporting safety concerns, including, but not limited to, facilities, students, faculty, staff, parents, and unknown individuals.Attending meetings and training sessions as directed.Performing any additional duties with the approval and direction of the Facilities Manager.Skills, Qualifications, and AttributesHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of two years' experience in facilities maintenance.Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment used in facilities maintenance.Must possess the ability to safely operate basic power and hand tools.Must possess the ability to complete basic maintenance and repair tasks in the safest and most effective manner.Be willing to respond to after-hours emergencies.Knowledge of occupational hazards, fire, and safety rules and regulations.Interact with students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.Criminal background check and clearance required.Physical RequirementsJob frequently requires standing, walking, and handling objects with hands.Job occasionally requires reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.Some work performed outside may require exposure to changing weather conditions.
