Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a Facilities Technician for Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, MI. This full-time, second-shift position supports the Facilities department with preventive maintenance and repairs to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and facility systems.
• Fixes or replaces faulty mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and boiler equipment and repairs fixtures.
• Performs daily checks on specialized equipment (nurse call systems, medical gas outlets, TVs, patient transport gear).
• Manages receipt, distribution, and relocation of facility materials, furniture, equipment, and files.
• Follows PPE protocols and safety checks to comply with regulatory codes.

Responsibilities

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Conducts routine inspections, testing, and manufacturer-specified preventative maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and facility structures.
• Fixes or replaces faulty mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and boiler equipment, including clearing obstructed lines and repairing leaking fixtures.
• Performs daily checks and repairs on specialized equipment like nurse call systems, medical gas outlets, TVs, and patient transport gear (wheelchairs).
• Manages the receipt, distribution, and relocation of facility materials, furniture, equipment, and files between storage and active locations.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment (PPE) and completes safety checks to ensure full compliance with regulatory codes.

Qualifications

Must have one or more of the following:

• Graduate of trade school
• 2 years' experience
