Job summary

State of Connecticut seeks a Custodian Supervisor at Connecticut Mental Health Center in New Haven to lead a custodial crew, enforce cleaning standards, plan workflow, schedule work, and supervise staff. This full-time, first-shift role runs 7:30am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday, on-site at 34 Park Street.

A minimum of one year of related experience is required; custodial background and equipment maintenance are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of related custodial supervisory experience.
• Experience with cleaning procedures and equipment.
• Ability to train custodial staff and mentor teammates.

Responsibilities

• Plans crew workflow and sets priorities.
• Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews work.
• Trains staff and conducts performance evaluations.
• Keeps equipment and supplies adequate; reports shortages.
• Liaises with units and outside officials on policies.
