Job summary

Associated Students, San Diego State University seeks a Building Services Engineer to oversee maintenance of the Aztec Student Union, Scripps Cottage and SDSU Children's Center. You will manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and building modifications while ensuring safety and LEED O&M compliance.

You will supervise part‑time staff, coordinate with the Building Services Coordinator and Mechanic, and maintain facilities to high standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of experience in general maintenance or building trades.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required (can be obtained within first month).
• California Driver's License and auto insurance proof required.

Responsibilities

• Completes FMX work order submittals and performs maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Reviews FMX work order list daily; delegates tasks to leads and assistants.
• Performs emergency and scheduled repairs to buildings, furniture and equipment.
• Inspects facilities to ensure preventative maintenance is performed timely.
• Repairs wiring, fixtures, plumbing, HVAC and building systems as needed.
