Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Facilities Systems Electrician for 1st shift onsite at our East Hartford, CT facility. You will perform electrical maintenance across buildings, equipment and utilities, reading diagrams, and troubleshooting critical processes to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years of experience, with a CT E-2 journeyman certification or equivalent knowledge, plus NEC familiarity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Journeyman certification CT E-2 or working knowledge of industrial/commercial electrical work required.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance to support facility operations.
• Install, service, and maintain buildings, grounds, and related systems.
• Read and follow diagrams and drawings for repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair process-critical equipment.
• Work under conditions such as noise, heights, and adverse weather when needed.
• Handle chemicals and hazardous waste per safety guidelines.
• Support ACE initiatives and participate in team leadership as directed.

Title

Facilities Systems Electrician 1st Shift (onsite).

What You Will Do

• Perform a variety of electrical maintenance duties to support various aspects of facility operation.
• Perform duties as required to install, service, and maintain buildings, grounds, building services, vehicles, machinery, test equipment, and the waste water treatment facilities.
• Primary Responsibilities Maintains of buildings ,structures, equipment.
• Ability to read diagrams.
• Working from drawings and sketches.
• Troubleshooting and repair of process critical equipment.
• On occasion may be required to work under disagreeable conditions such as noise, heights, tight space and adverse weather.
• Perform a variety of duties related to handling of chemicals and hazardous waste, following associated safety procedures and guidelines.
• The team member must be fully engaged in supporting ACE initiatives to achieve ACE Gold.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and refer team challenges to CT or Supervisor.
• Take Direction from Lead person.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years relevant experience.
• Must possess Journey person certification with CT E-2 or working knowledge of industrial /commercial electrical experience.
• Must have a working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).

• In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
