Cates-Control-Systems- is seeking a dependable Facilities Support Technician to help keep our Plano and Wylie manufacturing facilities running smoothly. If you enjoy hands-on work, staying busy, and organizing spaces, this role offers meaningful daily variations and the chance to support multiple departments.

You’ll assist with production, warehouse, and facility upkeep, move materials, and help ensure employees have what they need to be successful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of warehouse, facilities, maintenance, manufacturing, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Forklift certification (or willingness to become certified)
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation with proof of insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized production, warehouse, office, and common areas.
• Support production by delivering tools, hardware, and materials to employees and refilling supplies.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, staging, and moving materials; transport between departments; help organize inventory locations.
• Assist with facility improvements, coordinate with external contractors, and support office moves and special projects.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns and support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.

Cates is looking for a dependable, hardworking Facilities Support Technician to help keep our manufacturing facilities running smoothly.

If you’re someone who enjoys staying busy, likes working with your hands, takes pride in keeping things organized, and doesn’t want to sit behind a desk all day, this could be the perfect opportunity.

This isn’t just a cleaning position. You’ll be an important part of our operations team—supporting production, maintaining our facilities, helping move materials, stocking supplies, assisting multiple departments, and making sure our employees have everything they need to be successful.

What You’ll Do

You’ll support our Plano and Wylie facilities by helping with a variety of daily tasks, including:

Keep Our Facilities Looking Great

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized production, warehouse, office, and common areas
• Empty trash, recycling, and remove cardboard, pallets, and scrap materials
• Sweep, mop, and maintain production floors, loading docks, and walkways
• Report maintenance or safety concerns

Support Production

• Refill shop supplies, hardware bins, PPE, labels, tape, and production consumables
• Deliver tools, hardware, and materials to employees
• Help maintain organized supply stations
• Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives

Warehouse & Material Handling

• Assist with receiving, stocking, staging, and moving materials
• Transport materials between departments
• Relocate shelving, workstations, and production equipment
• Help organize inventory locations and assist with cycle counts

Facility Improvement

• Assemble shelving, workstations, carts, and other equipment using hand and power tools
• Coordinate with outside contractors performing facility work
• Help schedule facility services and repairs
• Assist with office moves, special projects, and department support

Physical Requirements

This is an active position that requires:

• Standing and walking throughout the day
• Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
• Working indoors and outdoors as needed
• Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and floor scrubbers after training

• M-F 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
• Some Overtime may be required
• Overtime pay available for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.
