Job summary

A local financial institution is seeking a responsible individual to transport materials between branches and perform building maintenance. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma, be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license, and possess basic handyman skills. Overview

Position Purpose: Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “We do the right thing one member, one employee, and one experience at a time to strengthen the communities we serve” by responsibly transporting materials and correspondence within and between branches and/or other institutions. May perform general building maintenance and upkeep as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Operates Credit Union vehicle to transport materials between branches and/or other institutions.
  • Provides coverage for entire Courier and/or Maintenance functions during vacations and staff shortages.
  • May perform general indoor and outdoor building maintenance, including but not limited to responsibility for the purchase of related equipment and materials, and small building projects.
  • May transport supplies to different areas within the branch.
Necessary Experience And Qualifications
  • Ability to exchange information on factual matters, understand and prioritize instructions, and perform other duties which require a basic level of listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills as normally acquired through a high school education.
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age and possess a current, valid driver's license.
  • Basic knowledge and experience using a computer, specifically E-mail, as normally acquired in one to three months of on-the-job experience.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle within the required state traffic and safety laws.
  • Ability to transport objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
  • May help with organizing supplies
  • May help with inventorying of supplies
  • May assist Director of Facilities and/or Facilities Support Supervisor with projects as needed
  • May assist with daily mail sorting of incoming mail from the Post Office
  • Basic handyman skills and knowledge, including the ability to operate tools and equipment necessary for general building maintenance, including but not limited to ladders, screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, wrenches, and electric drills.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of employees in various situations, and maintain a professional, approachable demeanor. Requires strong communication/listening skills and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Indoor and outdoor environments where temperature variations could be somewhat uncomfortable
  • Occasional use of tools, climbing ladders, and equipment where carelessness could result in injury
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
