Job summary

RTX seeks a Facilities Supervisor in a U.S.-based role. The position oversees plant and test cell equipment, coordinating skilled trades and contractors to keep production moving and ensure safety and reliability.

What You Will Do:

The Facilities Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of facilities, plant equipment, and engine test cell infrastructure within a dynamic MRO environment. This position leads a skilled team responsible for the purchase, installation, maintenance, calibration, modification, and continuous improvement of facility and test cell equipment, while partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, and other support organizations to keep production and maintenance activities moving efficiently. As the site’s primary contract coordinator, the Facilities Supervisor oversees a group of skilled trades and contractors, including electricians, welders, instrumentation technicians, plumbers, machinists, mechanics and other specialists. The role requires a hands‑on, solutions‑oriented leader who can balance day‑to‑day equipment reliability with long‑term facility projects, manage critical spare inventories and purchasing activities, and coordinate resources to meet project milestones and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a group of skilled employees in activities associated with the purchase, construction, maintenance, calibration, and modification of plant and test cell facilities and equipment.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities and manage critical spare inventories to prevent excessive shop and test cell equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate project schedules with Maintenance employees and Operations to meet project milestones and operational requirements.
  • Oversee and operate an efficient and cost‑effective preventive maintenance system for shop and test cell equipment.
  • Work with and coordinate the activities of various support organizations to ensure facility equipment is properly maintained and reliable.
  • Ensure employees and contractors are adequately trained and perform work in the safest possible environment.
  • Provide leadership with an emphasis on team building, effective communication, accountability, and responsiveness to customer and program requirements.
  • Establish appropriate levels of responsibility and performance goals for direct reports.
  • Serve as the primary contact coordinator for the site and oversee a variety of skilled trades personnel, including welders, electricians, instrumentation technicians, plumbers, machinists, mechanics and other contractors.
  • Issue confined space permits, hot work permits, and other required work permits.
  • Conduct safety orientations and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/tailboard meetings as required by project scope.
  • Promote compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and other applicable safety procedures.
  • Participate in the site Management of Change (MOC) committee.
Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance, facilities, manufacturing, or engineering experience, OR an Associate's degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience.

OSHA510 certification or the ability to obtain certification within 2 months of hire.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising industrial maintenance, facilities, plant engineering, or skilled trades activities.
  • Previous experience managing contractors in an industrial, manufacturing, or MRO environment.
  • Prior experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work permitting procedures.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical safety practices and NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
  • Experience performing electrical work is not required; candidates should have sufficient knowledge to provide effective supervision and coordination of qualified electrical workers.
  • Proven communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Self‑motivated, high‑energy leader with the ability to initiate, direct, prioritize, and lead.
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and the ability to become a change agent in supporting ACE implementation.

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
