Job summary

The University of Southern Indiana seeks a Director of Facility Operations and Planning to provide university-wide leadership for facilities, infrastructure, and long-range capital planning. Reporting to the VP for Finance and Administration, this role ensures a safe, functional, and sustainable physical environment.

Responsibilities include strategic master planning, capital project delivery, budget oversight, safety compliance, and workforce leadership across campus facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is required.
• Ten or more years in facilities ops, capital planning, or construction in large orgs; 5+ years supervising staff.
• Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and capital project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead campus master planning and facilities planning aligned with strategy and enrollment.
• Provide oversight of facilities operations, maintenance, and asset management.
• Direct planning, design, and execution of capital projects and renovations.
• Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets; forecast reinvestment needs.
• Ensure compliance with laws, codes, and safety requirements; manage risk and reporting.
