Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains signs and specific work orders, including but not limited to: Computer Graphics, Painted Graphics, Installing & Removing, Scenic Painting, Engraving, and Fabrication. Handles daily trouble calls from the dispatcher and performs shop work on special projects as directed by the supervisor or lead.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operates computer sign equipment to fabricate various signs, including Cut Vinyl Graphics, Digitally Printed Graphics, and patterns or masking for painted signs.
2. Performs specialized sign-making duties for theme signs, which may include Hand Painting, Gold Leaf, Fiberglass Repair, Mechanical & Carpentry work.
3. Installs and removes signs for renovation and new installations, possibly using high reach equipment and tools for digging and fastening.
4. Designs and layouts new signage for operational needs, special events, test marketing, safety, and emergency situations, primarily using computer equipment.
5. Prepares necessary information, tools, and materials to complete assigned tasks.
6. Cleans and stores work area, tools, and materials after completing tasks.
7. Participates actively in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policies, procedures, and training.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school or Art Institute preferred.
• Associate’s degree (AA) preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1-3 years experience with graphic arts programs such as Adobe CS, Corel Draw, Gerber Omega.
• 1-3 years experience with sign-making equipment like vinyl cutters, large format digital printers, laminators.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
