Job summary

The College of Southern Maryland is seeking a Building Services Technician I to maintain campus facilities to a high standard. Located 45 minutes from the Nation's Capital, CSM offers a supportive work environment and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities include custodial services, moving office equipment, seasonal exterior support, and related admin duties. The role requires high school diploma and the ability to lift 75 pounds, with CPR/first aid certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of institutional or commercial experience providing knowledge of procedures for proper use of cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, restrooms, offices, stairwells, and entrances.
• Perform custodial tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, dusting, window cleaning, carpet care.
• Assist with moving furniture and office equipment during relocations using dollies and hand trucks.
• Participate in snow removal and exterior cleaning during weather events.
• Record time and attend mandatory safety training and complete work orders.
