River Valley Community College is seeking a Facilities Services Assistant III to perform custodial, grounds, and basic building maintenance across the Claremont, Keene, and Lebanon centers.
You will follow safety practices, operate floor care machines, handle repairs under supervision, and support student and event setups. This role is based at multiple campus locations and requires a valid driver’s license.
Performs skilled work in the routine, general, and preventative custodial, grounds, and/or building maintenance. Reports to the College Facilities Manager at River Valley Community College, and is responsible for the Claremont and Lebanon locations.
Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency.
Experience: Two years' experience in custodial, grounds-keeping, or light maintenance work with equipment operation and maintenance and some supervisory or project coordination experience. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license.
Knowledge of the methods and tools used in maintenance and repair work. Working knowledge of one or more of the building trades. Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Knowledge of groundskeeping and simple practices relating to the care of grounds. Ability to use the tools and equipment of the trade. Ability to maintain and make ordinary repairs to machinery and equipment. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with immediate associates. Ability to direct, train, and monitor the work of other staff. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
