Job summary

Catholic Charities of Onondaga County in Syracuse is seeking a part-time Security Guard to help protect the HoP facility. You will perform routine patrols, respond to system alerts, and lead tours to ensure doors and locks are secure.

The role requires a High School Diploma, a valid NYS driver’s license, and prompt attention to details with strong communication skills. Position is 24 hours per week at $18.00 per hour. Catholic Charities is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patrols of the 82,000 sq ft premises, interior and exterior.
• Respond to security system alerts and alarms.
• Lead agency tours and check windows, doors and locks; document findings in log book.
• Investigate suspicious activities and disturbances.
• Assist with after-hours access to the property and monitoring as needed.
• Other duties as assigned during the shift.

Responsibilities

The Security Guard will report to Facilities Officer, the security guard will perform security practices to the HoP facility, such as but not imiting to:Performs routine patrols of the 82,000 sq. foot premises. This includes both the interior and exterior of the property.Responds to system alerts and security alarms as prompted. Leads tours of the agency as required which includes but is not limited to checking windows, doors and locks throughout the building and maintaining a log book documenting findings. Investigating suspicious activities and disturbances. Assist in routine agency security needs as directed, while adhering to security industry regulations. The Security guard will work with employees and clients for after normal hours access to the property and monitor as needed. As well as other duties as assigned during work shift.

This Position is Part Time at 24 hours a week. Pay for this Positions $18.00 per hour

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
• Additional specialized training, coursework, or skill acquisition related to the position is preferred.

Licenses/Certificate/Clearances:

• Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License,
• State Central Registry Clearance,

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of security systems and surveillance equipment is preferred.
