Job summary

Omya is seeking a Sanitation Technician at the Wathena, KS site, a full-time role with a 7 am – 3:30 pm schedule, plus overtime on weekends as needed to support production and safety goals.

Responsibilities include cleaning assigned areas, operating steam cleaners and floor polishers, handling chemicals safely, managing waste and supplies, and performing light maintenance. Growth comes through practical facilities skills and stable, safety-focused work culture.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, and understand English.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and follow instructions.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and adhere to safety protocols.
• Punctual, reliable and able to work independently after training.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas across the property, including common areas, restrooms, and supply rooms.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as steam cleaners and floor polishers safely and per instructions.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies following product and site safety rules.
• Collect, sort, and dispose of garbage, waste and recyclables per site procedures.
• Stock, organize, and maintain supply rooms; assist with light maintenance tasks as needed.
• Perform routine inspections and document cleaning and maintenance activities; report issues to supervisor.
