Job summary

Northeast Precast is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Repair Technician to perform general building repairs and property-improvement projects across our facilities in Millville, NJ. This role focuses on offices, restrooms, and common areas, not production equipment maintenance.

The position requires experience in facilities repair and a working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and fixture installation.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities repair, building maintenance, or handyman work.
• Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and fixture installation.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor building repairs and handyman-type projects.
• Replace fixtures and components in restrooms and common areas.
• Install shelving, cabinets, signage, mirrors, hooks, and wall-mounted accessories.
• Replace light fixtures, switches, outlets, and bulbs when trained.
• Repair doors, hinges, handles, locks, trim, and other hardware.
• Complete drywall repairs, patching, caulking, painting, and touch-ups.
• Perform minor carpentry and interior-finish work.
• Document completed repairs and update job status.

Job Posting: Facilities Repair Technician

Location: Northeast Precast, Millville, NJ

Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour, based on relevant experience and demonstrated skills
Reports To: Property Manager

Position Summary

Northeast Precast is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Repair Technician to complete general building repairs, fixture replacements, installations, and property-improvement projects across our facilities.

This is a building and facilities repair position. It is not a production-equipment maintenance role. The employee will primarily work in offices, restrooms, common areas, entrances, and other building-related areas.

What You Will Do

• Complete minor building repairs and handyman-type projects
• Replace toilets, toilet seats, faucets, supply lines, and basic restroom components
• Install and replace soap, paper-towel, and toilet-paper dispensers
• Install shelving, cabinets, signage, mirrors, hooks, and wall-mounted accessories
• Replace light fixtures, switches, outlets, and bulbs when trained and authorized
• Repair doors, hinges, handles, locks, closers, trim, and other building hardware
• Complete minor drywall repairs, patching, caulking, painting, and touch-up work
• Perform minor carpentry, assembly, and interior-finish work
• Replace ceiling tiles, baseboards, moldings, and damaged fixtures
• Identify repairs requiring Maintenance, a licensed trade, or an outside contractor
• Receive and track assigned work using a smartphone or tablet
• Upload before-and-after photographs, update job status, and document completed repairs
• Record materials used and reported additional supplies or follow-up work needed
• Maintain tools, materials, and repair supplies
• Leave every work area clean, organized, and ready for use

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in facilities repair, building maintenance, construction, remodeling, or handyman work
• Working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and fixture installation
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and ladders
• Ability to recognize when work requires a specialized or licensed contractor
• Basic ability to use a smartphone, tablet, email, and mobile applications
• Ability to upload photographs, receive assignments, enter notes, and update work status
• Dependable attendance and ability to complete assignments without constant supervision
• Good communication and follow-through
• Professional attitude and respect for employees, visitors, and company property
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record preferred
• Commercial or industrial facility experience preferred

This position does not repair or maintain production machinery, plant equipment, vehicles, cranes, batch plants, or other industrial systems. Major electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, fire-protection, or permitted work will be referred to the appropriate department or qualified contractor.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, lifting, carrying, and working from ladders. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying property and weather conditions.
