Job summary

Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC (HDMA) is seeking a Facilities technician to perform preventative maintenance, repairs and improvements across building, equipment and utility systems at our Ohio site. You will work on a team ensuring high customer service, reliability and safety in a complex plant environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year technical degree or equivalent equipment service experience.
• Desirable: 5 years of experience in a facilities environment.
• Knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical equipment (substations, switches, cable, starters, VFDs, MCC, breakers, bus duct) and building management systems.
• Knowledge of fire alarm (Simplex) and building controls (EcoStruxure EBO).
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment such as HVAC, refrigeration, air compressors, air dryers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, plumbing & piping.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work weekends, all shifts, overtime and shutdowns.
• Completion of the ES Technical Development Program (TDP) over 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, building controls).
• Execute daily work orders and communicate follow‑ups as needed.
• Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to boost availability and yield.
• Revise preventive maintenance plans to protect facilities equipment.
• Conduct equipment failure analysis including preventative and unscheduled maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
• Participate in reliability‑centered maintenance and team activities for long‑term reliability.
• Support total equipment management with proactive daily activities.
