Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine in Stony Brook, NY is seeking a Facilities Operations Assistant I in the Main Hospital Receiving Department. The role involves unloading, sorting, receiving and delivering items from vendors to hospital delivery zones, with physical duties including heavy lifting and use of pallet jacks and power equipment.

You will work as part of a dedicated receiving team, read POs and write-ups, and coordinate deliveries across units using Lawson.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Preferred receiving experience and ability to use receiving equipment.
• Certified Power Equipment training required.
• Teamwork and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand basic English.

Responsibilities

• Unload shipped items at loading dock.
• Sort incoming shipments for receiving.
• Process Purchase Order deliveries and Non P.O. deliveries (Write-ups).
• Deliver items to units throughout hospital delivery zones.
• Deliver controlled gases via Lawson ordering system.
• Move items using pallet jacks or power equipment as required.
