Job summary

American Electric Power in Ohio seeks a facilities planner to optimize regional spaces and manage small to medium construction/remodel projects. You will create AutoCAD drawings, develop scopes of work, and oversee contractors while maintaining building drawings and budgets.

The role requires an engineering/facilities background, plus 5 years in facilities operations or space planning, and a valid driver's license for travel.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering, facilities, business, architecture or related field or High School Diploma/GED plus 2 years of relevant work experience.
• 5 years of experience in facilities operations or space planning duties.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare projections of space requirements and budget projections for capital and O&M expenditures.
• Space planning, furniture layout design, remodeling materials, and acquisition of furniture and contractors.
• Coordinate with facilities engineers to develop and implement office standards and projects.
• Manage contracts and vendor documentation per procurement policies.
• Coordinate office moves, remodels, and project scheduling to satisfy customers.
