Job summary

Doc PersonalBeratung GmbH is seeking a Project Manager to plan and oversee the design and construction of university buildings, renovations and underground utilities in South Carolina. You will coordinate between architects, engineers, contractors, campus users and regulatory agencies from planning through project completion.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of construction experience, with strong knowledge of codes, AutoCAD and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field.
• Two years of related experience in construction.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of construction project management and engineering theory and best practices.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of South Carolina OSE and Materials Management Office rules and regulations.
• Working knowledge of AutoCad and Microsoft Project.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures, lift 50 pounds, and work from ladders or scaffolds over 40 feet.

Responsibilities

• Plans and oversees the design and construction of new buildings, demolition and renovation projects.
• Inspects contractor work to ensure compliance with plans and regulations; prepares bid specifications and coordinates utility marking.
• Participates in bid openings, evaluation of bid packages, contract negotiations and site meetings.
• Directs onsite construction work as project manager/owner's representative with architects/engineers and crews.
• Prepares reports and coordinates with architects, engineers, contractors, campus users and stakeholders from planning to completion.
• Develops punch lists and conducts inspections to ensure completion to satisfaction.
• Coordinates project work with campus users, stakeholders, and Facilities/EHS staff.
• Approves payments after ensuring compliance with plans and designs.
