MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage all phases of construction, renovation, infrastructure, and facilities improvement projects from initiation through closeout.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, budgets, milestones, and success criteria.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, procurement strategies, risk assessments, communication plans, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address schedule, budget, or performance issues.
- Coordinate and manage architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and testing agencies.
- Oversee design and construction activities to ensure compliance with contracts, building codes, regulatory requirements, and institutional standards.
- Administer project budgets, including cost estimating, forecasting, change order management, invoice review, and financial reporting.
- Ensure effective stewardship of project funds and institutional resources.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and utility providers.
- Prepare and deliver project updates, executive summaries, presentations, status reports, and recommendations to leadership.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Facilitate decision-making, resolve project obstacles, and manage scope changes through formal change management processes.
- Conduct project oversight activities, including site inspections, quality assurance reviews, safety coordination, commissioning support, occupancy planning, and final acceptance.
- Manage project closeout activities, including documentation, warranty administration, turnover to operations, records retention, and project performance evaluations.
- Support strategic facilities initiatives, campus improvement efforts, and other departmental projects as assigned.
- Participate in emergency response and recovery activities related to facilities operations.
- Represent Facilities Management on institutional committees and cross-functional initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Five to seven years of project management experience involving construction, renovation, infrastructure, facilities, or capital projects.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder communications.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in higher education, healthcare, government, or other complex institutional environments preferred.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, LEED AP, CEFP, PE, or RA are preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between campus locations and project sites.
SALARY RANGE $65,618 - $80,000 (commensurate with experience)
