Job summary

Montana State University seeks a Facilities Project Manager I to oversee design and construction projects on the Bozeman campus. You will administer contracts, maintain scope, schedule, and budget, and work with university clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment with MSU policies.

The role requires strong communication, assessment of plans and codes, and effective problem solving across stakeholders. This position is on-site with responsibilities spanning multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management with progressively responsible experience.
• Effective communication and public relation skills across all levels.
• Knowledge of construction methods, practices, standards, codes, scheduling, cost management, contract administration and documentation.
• Ability to read and understand building plans, specifications, and codes.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage scope, schedule, budget, and legal authority for projects.
• Administer all project contracts between MSU, consultants, and contractors.
• Communicate with campus stakeholders, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and others.
• Concurrently manage multiple, distinct projects and keep all on track.
• Ensure quality control of projects throughout design and construction.
• Review contract drawings and verify procedures are followed per contracts.
• Collaborate with campus partners to ensure compliant, quality outcomes.
