Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp seeks a Facilities Project Engineer to manage engineering and architectural work for new construction, renovations, and building systems. The role covers data centers, emergency operating facilities, and transmission/dispatch facilities, reporting through Administrative Services.

Location flexibility includes Akron, OH or Reading, PA regions. The position focuses on design, procurement, and implementation within scope, cost, and schedule constraints and requires strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited institution is required.
• Minimum 3 years engineering work experience is required.
• Proficiency with project controls and scheduling tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural and engineering design packages for facilities and facility assets from concept through turnover.
• Review project documents for clarity and completeness (scope, specs, plans, contracts, BOMs).
• Perform detailed performance analyses of facilities.
• Establish and monitor project budgets and schedules; manage revisions as needed.
• Oversee QA/QC of projects and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Coordinate all phases of design, procurement, bid evaluation and award.
• Provide project status reports addressing scope, budget, schedule and risks.
• Travel to project locations within the FirstEnergy service territory as needed.
