Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking a Facilities Project Coordinator to manage day-to-day maintenance projects, coordinate parts and supplies, and ensure work is completed to specification.

You will bid on small projects, oversee vendors, maintain inventory accuracy, schedule roof inspections, and collaborate with the maintenance team to keep facilities safe and functional. This on-site role in Winfield, IL offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • 5 years of maintenance-related experience in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or similar trades.
  • Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong math skills including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Strong written communication and reporting abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates day-to-day activities of the parts and supply department.
  • Bids out, awards and oversees small contracted maintenance projects.
  • Maintains parts inventory and ensures it is up to date.
  • Oversees vendors on repairs and ensures quality workmanship.
  • Cares for parking lot maintenance and repairs including asphalt and striping.
  • Schedules roof inspections and coordinates repairs.
  • Communicates with Maintenance to ensure supplies and tools are ordered promptly.
  • Keeps storage and supply areas neat and organized.

The salary range for this position is $30.64 - $41.36 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Facilities Project Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the parts and supply department.
  • Bids out, awards and oversees small, contracted maintenance projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the parts inventory is maintained and kept up to date.
  • Oversees vendors on repairs to make sure that all work is done properly.
  • Responsible for all parking lot maintenance and repairs including asphalt and stripping.
  • Responsible for scheduling all roof inspections and making sure that all repairs are completed.
  • Communicates with all members of the Maintenance department to ensure all supplies and tools are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Keeps all storage and supply areas neat and organized.
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of experience in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine servicing or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, diagrams, written instructions, schedules, or technical bulletins.
  • Must understand shop level math including concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
  • Must be able to write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge, Microsoft Office; e-mail, word and spreadsheets, and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Must possess excellent customer relations skills and be able to communicate with patients and staff.
Preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine servicing or equivalent.
