Job summary

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is seeking a Plumber/Facilities Mechanic to perform routine and semi-skilled plumbing tasks in the maintenance, alteration and repair of building systems. Under supervision, you will operate a sewer jetter to clean sewer and storm drains, read blueprints, and work as part of a team.

The position runs 3:00PM - 11:30PM and requires a valid CA driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of plumbing and ability to assist journeymen plumbers.
• Ability to operate sewer jetter following safety practices.
• Ability to read and comprehend English work orders and blueprints.
• Strong teamwork and communication with staff.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Ability to stand, crawl, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and semi-skilled plumbing tasks in maintenance and repair of building systems.
• Operate sewer jetter to clean sewer and storm drains and maintain piping.
• Read blueprints and follow work orders accurately.
• Collaborate with journeymen plumbers and supervisors to complete tasks.
• Maintain safety practices and use tools and equipment properly.
