Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Plumbing Technician - 2nd Shift (Facilities) in Hawthorne, CA. You will support critical infrastructure, maintaining HVAC and plumbing systems, reading schematics, and performing repairs to ensure uninterrupted operations in a high-stakes, space-tech environment.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience and a high school diploma, with preferred HVAC journeyman/master certification.

Qualifications

• BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• 3+ years of professional experience working with HVAC, plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, managers, and customers to maintain systems and develop/update detailed work instructions for preventing unplanned interruptions.
• Maintain and repair HVAC support equipment on facility systems (air handlers, chilled water, condenser pumps, cooling towers, valves, filters).
• Perform ductwork modifications, brazing, soldering, evacuation & charging of refrigerants, water piping, insulation modifications and repairs.
• Assemble, install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, heating, water, and drainage systems per specs and codes.
• Read and interpret schematics for assembly, repair, and reassembly; perform safety inspections and report findings.
• Adjust and fabricate mechanical parts; present equipment maintenance statuses for internal/external customers.
