Facilities Painter - Texas Health Fort Worth - Day Shift

Job Summary

This role involves installing and maintaining interior and exterior building wall finishes and surfaces with paint, coatings, wall coverings, plaster, and other repair materials. It includes removing and installing wall trim and cove base materials, or other accessory items to complete work professionally and safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Selects proper tools and equipment, including paints, brushes, rollers, spray guns, drop cloths, rags, ladders, scaffolds, tape, and cleaning materials.
  2. Prepares paints to match specific colors by blending and mixing pigments, oil, and thinning agents.
  3. Transports materials and equipment to the work site or arranges for transportation of heavy or bulky items.
  4. Prepares the site by covering furniture, equipment, and floors, and masking doors, windows, and trim.
  5. Prepares surfaces through cleaning, minor repairs, patching, and polishing, and installs or replaces cove bases, ceiling tiles, and wall-mounted items.
  6. Performs caulking, sanding, taping, applying finishes, and glazing as necessary.
  7. Recommends substitute materials or colors to improve work efficiency.
  8. Maintains records of materials, equipment, and time reports.
  9. Paints signs and installs wall coverings and similar materials.
  10. Performs decorative finishes like highlighting, shading, and glazing.
  11. Replaces or repairs ceramic tile floors, walls, and ceilings.
  12. Prepares drywall for painting, fills holes, cracks, and joints.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of trade school or 2 years of experience as a Painter in a similar-sized institution.
  • Ability to lift medium and heavy equipment and tools.
  • Exposure to heat, noise, dust, and dirt areas requiring infection control.
