Job summary

Middlebury College is hiring for a full-time, benefits-eligible Custodian/Facilities Worker to support Operations across custodial, waste management, landscape services, mail center, event support, moving and delivery, and dining.

The position offers an hourly wage between $20.00 and $22.99 and requires a High School Diploma or GED, plus at least three years of custodial and related experience; driving experience is preferred. Flexible shifts and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Professional communication skills with ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to establish positive working relations with supervisors, staff, students, and vendors.
• Ability to develop and follow a schedule with strong organizational/time management.
• Must read and interpret floor plans and event diagrams accurately.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years custodial/maintenance experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years driving experience, with preference for large vans/box trucks.
• Self-starter and able to work independently and as a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain institutional equipment to support campus operations.
• Clean, maintain, and disinfect college facilities and contents.
• Provide moving and delivery services and manage campus storage.
• Move and reset furniture for events per diagrams and instructions.
• Follow protocols to safely handle potentially bloodborne pathogens.
• Maintenance and care of campus grounds, including mowing, trimming, snow removal.
• Work cooperatively with others and follow directions; perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform duties safely and in accordance with departmental practices and procedures.
