Facilities Specialist / Senior Facilities Specialist – Full time, 40 hours per week. Location: Arlington, VA 22203.

Salary – Facilities Specialist: $48,000 – $71,900 per year. Senior Facilities Specialist: $59,300 – $88,800 per year.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support headquarters operations.
- Conduct daily facility inspections focused on HVAC performance, lighting, cleanliness, organization, conference room readiness, restrooms, copy rooms, and common areas.
- Respond to and resolve day‑to‑day facilities requests (HVAC, plumbing, furniture, appliance, copier, shipping, office equipment).
- Perform preventative maintenance on pantry equipment (dishwashers, microwaves, ice makers, coffee machines, water dispensers).
- Troubleshoot facility‑related issues and coordinate vendor service calls.
- Serve as primary facilities contact when the Facilities Manager is off‑site.
- Complete minor repairs (painting, wall touch‑ups, furniture repairs, door adjustments, carpet repairs, basic plumbing).
- Replace consumables (light bulbs, copier toner, water filters, CO₂ tanks).
- Maintain office equipment and ensure shared spaces remain fully operational.
- Coordinate contractor repairs and maintenance for furnishings, flooring, doors, lighting, plumbing, electrical systems.
- Review completed work and ensure repairs meet company standards.
- Submit and manage service requests through building‑management systems.
- Set up conference rooms, training spaces, and event areas for meetings and special events.
- Assist with office relocations and internal moves.
- Partner with Information Services to prepare workstations for new hires and departing associates.
- Communicate proactively with associates regarding repairs, projects, and facility‑related updates.
- Maintain safety and security systems, including AEDs, badge access, and storage inventory.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum five years’ experience in facilities, building maintenance, or workplace operations.
- Basic carpentry, painting, and plumbing skills.
- Experience with minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Strong customer‑service mindset and ability to support a wide range of internal clients.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb stairs or ladders.
- Lift and move objects weighing more than 30 pounds.
- Operate maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies safely.
- Occasional evening or weekend work to support business needs.
