Job summary

The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Facilities Department seeks a Technical Manager to oversee operations, maintenance, and capital projects across ten sites in the LA area.

Responsibilities include managing preventive maintenance, CMMS, vendor relationships, and ensuring regulatory compliance, life safety systems, and risk management. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to plan long-term facility improvements.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in contractor management and building troubleshooting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing and general building systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office and work management systems.
• Ability to work with multiple departments and stay calm under heavy workload.
• On-call availability 24/7 for emergencies.
• Access to reliable transportation and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repairs across multiple locations.
• Manage CMMS work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate project renovations and capital improvements.
• Manage vendor bids, quotes, and contractor relationships.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and life safety systems.
• Assist with departmental planning and emergency response.
