Job summary

The University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks an Assistant Manager to oversee daily facility operations and renovation projects across 30+ buildings in Charlottesville. You will ensure quality standards, coordinate space changes, manage storerooms, and supervise a team of up to five Store and Warehouse Specialists, with emphasis on safety and staffing efficiency.

Candidates should have strong customer service, excellent communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and facilities

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: 1 year with a Bachelor's degree, or 5 years without.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with UVA Facilities Management to coordinate issue resolution and communicate with stakeholders.
• Coordinate and support facilities, space, renovations, and operational projects across the School of Medicine.
• Assess and prioritize competing facilities and project needs by safety, impact, and urgency.
• Coordinate moves, equipment relocations, and access for renovations and space transitions.
• Supervise Store and Warehouse Specialists and oversee deliveries and dock operations.
• Coordinate vendor relationships and support procurement processes.
• Use Microsoft Office and facilities management systems to manage records and data.
• Conduct or participate in space assessments and occupancy verification.
• Build relationships with faculty, staff, and university partners.
