Job summary

Jefferson County Department of Health is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead maintenance, operations, and facility-related activities across the department. The role oversees inspections, maintenance, repairs, and construction projects to ensure safe, efficient, and well-maintained environments.

The Facilities Manager will supervise managers and staff, coordinate with internal departments and external organizations, and support events, safety initiatives, supplies, and facility

Qualifications

• Experience supervising, coordinating and directing multiple personnel in crafts or maintenance.
• Experience working with operating and capital budgets for commercial or industrial facilities.
• Experience planning and managing construction or maintenance projects for commercial or industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to administration of departmental budget to fund ongoing work and special projects.
• Administers and manages solicitation and hiring of contractors and tracks project status.
• Oversees onboarding programs for new hires to ensure performance standards.
• Engages in professional development and knowledge of applicable practices, rules, and guidelines.
• Initiates, plans, executes, and monitors projects for efficient service delivery.
• Oversees adherence to safety codes and staff safety training.
• Supervises staff by assigning work and providing feedback.
