Position Summary

We are seeking a versatile and proactive Facilities Operations Maintenance personnel to oversee the day-to-day care, upkeep, and curb appeal of our physical campus. This role bridges the gap between interior structural upkeep and exterior grounds maintenance.

You will ensure that all buildings are clean, safe, and fully operational, while maintaining professional, well-manicured outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in property appearance, prioritizes safe work practices, and enjoys a dynamic mix of indoor and outdoor tasks.

  • Comprehensive Groundskeeping: Maintain all outdoor spaces, including lawn care (mowing, trimming, edging), landscaping upkeep (weed control, planting, pruning), and debris/trash removal across parking lots and walkways.
  • Seasonal Operations: Oversee weather-related property safety, including proactive snow removal, salting walkways, and managing stormwater drainage clearing during heavy weather events.
  • Asset & Work Management: Track, log, and close out routine work orders using our digital work management system (CMMS) to document daily facility and grounds tasks.
  • Safety & Compliance: Operate all hand tools, power tools, commercial lawn equipment, and utility vehicles safely. Maintain compliance with facility safety protocols, including appropriate PPE usage and basicLockout/Tagout (LOTO)rules.
  • Vendor Support & Janitorial Backup: Coordinate with external waste management, landscaping, or specialized structural contractors as needed. Assist with localized deep cleaning or emergency spills when required.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in general building maintenance, property management, or commercial groundskeeping.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient with commercial landscaping equipment (zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers) and standard hand/power tools used for building repairs.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, climb ladders, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Digital Literacy: Comfort using smartphone or tablet-based apps to receive and update daily work orders.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license (clean driving record required for operating facility utility vehicles).
Preferred:
  • Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., skid steers, tractors, or snowplows).
  • Basic certifications in OSHA general industry safety.
  • Prior experience in a commercial, corporate, or utility campus environment.
