Job summary

RI Council 94 is hiring a Building & Grounds Officer in Providence to supervise a comprehensive operations, maintenance, repair, and construction program for state-operated facilities. The role oversees facilities personnel, vendors, and contractors, with emphasis on boilers, HVAC systems, energy management, and safety compliance.

The position reports to the Division of Facilities Management and participates in budgeting, cost estimates, and contract administration while ensuring adherence to

Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of building services and mechanical equipment maintenance.
Working knowledge of fire, health and safety standards and codes.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and review work for conformance to objectives and policies.

Responsibilities

Supervise and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for assigned facilities.
Direct supervision of facilities personnel and maintenance staff.
Inspect vendors’ and contractors’ work for conformance to plans, specs, contracts and codes.
Oversee maintenance programs for boilers and HVAC systems under division jurisdiction.
Coordinate with Purchases on contracts, vouchers, and master price agreements.
