Job summary

City of DeSoto is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee city-wide maintenance operations and related administrative tasks. You will schedule staff, set cleaning standards, manage preventative programs, and coordinate bids, contracts and vendors for timely, compliant service.

You will develop and monitor budgets, review work orders, and lead a team to ensure safe, reliable facilities. A Bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience are required; Master Electrician or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Facility Management and Maintenance, Construction, or related field.
• Five (5) years of related work experience.
• Master Electrician or HVAC License preferred.
• Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Facilities Maintenance and Custodial staff; assign tasks; set standards; train staff; ensure safety; implement quality control; hire and evaluate performance.
• Provide project management for repair projects; assess facility conditions; plan replacements; review work orders and status; prioritize projects; schedule inspections.
• Coordinate bidding process; review proposals; manage vendors and contracts; supervise work on building maintenance projects.
• Develop and administer budgets; approve expenditures; coordinate equipment and supply purchases; maintain warranties.
• Perform other assigned duties.
