Carnegie Mellon University Miami is seeking a Director of Facilities Operations to lead the operational transition of our newly acquired properties. You will establish facilities, infrastructure, and an operational foundation for this bold chapter, while maintaining real-time site readiness and safety.

You will craft RFPs, define SOWs, evaluate bids, and award contracts for outsourced property management and maintenance. This role demands hands-on leadership and cross‑department collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in property management, facilities operations or campus real estate transition.
• Experience writing RFPs, drafting SOWs, and managing procurement cycles.
• Strong knowledge of building MEP, structural components, and security protocols.
• Experience developing long‑range maintenance plans and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational transition and launch of CMU Miami facilities.
• Oversee maintenance, security, life safety, and asset preservation across existing and new sites.
• Draft, publish, and manage RFPs for property management and maintenance services.
• Define SOWs, evaluate bids, and award contracts; manage vendor performance.
• Develop operating budgets and monitor costs; ensure alignment with strategic goals.
• Collaborate with multiple university departments to align facilities with master plans.
