Job summary

The County of San Diego’s Department of General Services seeks a Facilities Support Manager to supervise a multi-disciplinary team responsible for life safety, access control, and maintenance across county facilities. You’ll coordinate service contracts, energy management, and fire/life/safety programs to ensure reliable operations and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5 years in facilities operations.
• Three years of managing a large multi-disciplinary workforce in operation/maintenance of complex facilities.
• Certificate in facility/maintenance/energy/construction management may substitute for two years of operational management.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, manages, and coordinates a multi-disciplinary staff for life safety, access, control, and maintenance of facilities.
• Identifies and diagnoses overall building operation dysfunction and plans remedial actions.
• Develops preventive maintenance strategies, inspections, and predictive maintenance across county facilities.
• Evaluates alternatives and implements programmatic solutions to improve operations.
• Plans maintenance and repair of county-owned and leased buildings and grounds.
